VIATOR | TRIP ADVISOR

The stunning Gyeongbokgung Palace is a must when visiting Seoul. http://bit.ly/38w9U4i Constructed in the 14th century and the largest of the Five Grand Palaces, Gyeongbokgung is largely considered to be the most beautiful palace in Seoul. While much of Gyeongbokgung palace was destroyed during the Japanese occupation, an effort to restore the palace has been underway since 1990, including the restoration of Heungnyemun Gate. When at the gate, keep your camera handy for the changing of the guard ceremony, a unique cultural event where guardsmen perform in brilliantly colored traditional costumes. Also within the palace grounds is the National Folk Museum of Korea, which features over 98,000 artifacts and presents a thorough overview of the history and culture of Korea. With a variety of traditional cultural experiences, Gyeongbokgung Palace is a must-see when visiting Seoul.
